The story of the Submariner Date
The Submariner is the house diving watch and one of the most copied designs in watchmaking. Its bezel turns one way only, and that is deliberate: if it is knocked underwater it can only shorten the dive time it shows, never lengthen it. That safety logic, together with the sealed Oyster case, made it an instrument before it was an object of desire.
